Creating a Sustainable Growing Environment

With rising prices and increased energy costs, indoor growing has become even more challenging in 2024. At Avagrow we want to help our growers be as efficient and cost effective as possible so they can get the most out of each grow project without overspending. To help with this process, here are some top tips to help make your grow project a bit more sustainable.

The Size of your Grow Space

Size matters! So knowing how much space you need for your next project is key information to ensure you are using your space as efficiently as you can. Wasted space costs money to heat and light so always try to think about how big your room is or what size grow tent you will need. We have categorised our new Grow Kits by size order so once you know what size tent you require, you can easily see the options available to you.

Use the power of CO2!

Plants love light to grow however they also need CO2 from the atmosphere to photosynthesise and this can be in limited supply in a crowded grow tent. Adding CO2 to your grow environment will allow plants to make the most of the lighting and result in larger plants giving larger yields. You can find our CO2 purchase options here.

Making the most of Nutrients

Nutrients have the power to turn your crop from good to great. So incorporating them into your grow project is a must, however, a lot of nutrients come ready mixed and so don’t offer the best value for money. Looking for a concentrated or powder form nutrient can allow you to do the mixing at home. This can offer better value for money and ensure that you don’t have to keep going back to your grow shop as often for another refill!

Maximise your light

Whether you use an HPS or LED set up, you want to be sure you are getting the most out of your lighting set up. This can offer both increased light to the plant along with increased heat retention within the grow room/tent. Reflective sheeting is an ideal, cost effective, solution to this as you will be able to attach it to any surface which doesn’t reflect light so your plants can get all the light and heat they need without having to turn anything up!

We hope these tips can help you in making your next grow project more sustainable in the future and ensure you continue to get great yields for great value!
