How to get the most from your LED lights

Getting the most out of your LED’s helps ensure your grow project can get the best results. Here are a few tips to fine-tune your grow set up!

Dim Your Lights

Too much light can be a bad thing and LED’s are incredibly efficient at producing light for your plants to grow. To stop overwhelming your plants you can use a controller to dim the lights. Either to reduce the intensity consistently, or to better match natural daylight with lights that match sunrise to sunset. Some lights will come with integrated adjusters however if your lighting rig doesn’t have this option you can add controllers to adjust your light output. A good example of this is the Gavita EL1 & EL2 controllers. You can get these with up to 45% off during September both in store and online.

Taller tent

If light controllers are not an option, then getting a taller tent is another solution. By increasing the distance between light and plant you can decrease the intensity of your LED’s and help better replicate natural outdoor light as the spread of light will be wider and broader across your growing space.

Move Your Fan and Filter

Fans and filters are essential parts of your grow kit, however, they can take up a lot of space in your tent and this is space where light cannot get to! By using an inline fan you can move this essential piece of kit outside of your grow tent, therefore increasing your growing space and allowing your LED lights to spread across every corner of your grow tent for maximum impact!

Increase CO2 levels

Plants need C02 to photosynthesise and grow. If you are using a highly efficient LED light then you may well be providing more available light than there is C02 in the atmosphere for your plants to use. To help counter this you can add C02 into your grow tent environment. There are many ways you can do this and we have a wide range of equipment to help get the job done!

As you can see, there are several ways in which you can make the most of your LED lighting set up.
